(2
week-ends) Traditional
Chinese Medicine Theory & Terminology ~ (Pre-Requisite
for Chinese Herbology Program to start April 2010 or Stand Alone
Class) ~
This is a
powerful course for anyone interested in the Differential Diagnosis
of Traditional Chinese Medicine and it's uses today. Aroma
therapists, Body workers, Massage therapists, and other wellness
practitioners benefit from incorporating this holistic perspective
of the human energetic systems. 4,18,31,Nov.1,15,Dec. 6 (6
Sundays): Acupressure
to Enhance Your Practice ~ Students will learn how to map meridians in the human body and gain insight into how energy flow in these meridians can affect health and produce unwanted symptoms. By learning which organ systems/meridians are out of balance the therapist can develop a strategy to address their client’s symptoms. Acupuncture courses teach students how to utilize needles in treatment; whereas this class is intended to teach students how to use the same pressure points in noninvasive touch patterns. Consequently health imbalances can be treated by facilitating various acupressure points through finger depressions. There will be ample opportunity to practice/exchange each weekend. As
a successful graduate or massage therapist, your clients look to you
as part of their healthcare team. Integrating acupressure into your
practice not only improves your professional image, but enhances the
level of quality treatment you can extend to your clients.
Many students also become more aware
of imbalances in themselves as they go through this class –leading
to a better understanding of their own health and well-being! 31, Saturday, Introduction to Aromatherapy for Respiratory Health

2010
One Year Certified
Chinese
Herbology Program
(Certificate
of Completion awarded)
See Outline below for dates: Time: 9:00 Am -
4:00PM Cost: $2395.00
(It should be noted that at this time, no state has authorized
separate licensing for practicing herbologists. In many states, only
acupuncturists or Naturopaths can legally prescribe herbs
using a western diagnosis. However... that does not prevent an
herbologist from suggesting formulas in accordance with Chinese
Medical Theory)
So it is not
using or suggesting
herbs that is at issue...but
diagnosing
a Western-named disease
without having a medical license.
There are
thousands of herbalists in America and Europe. (In the West,
Herbologists have
been accepted as healers for hundreds of years.
In China, Herbalists have been mainstays of the medical healing arts
for thousands of years.
