Founded in 1992, the Connecticut Institute of Herbal Studies focuses on Traditional Chinese Medicine and offers a Certified Herbology Program with a foundation in both theory and clinical diagnosis as practiced in China today. 

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been practiced for over 4000 years.  It employs a highly developed theoretical system which determines the appropriate application of herbs based on an individual's unique symptoms and not just on a named disease.  
In this way TCM treats the causes of disease and not just the disease itself. 

All natural practitioners, from massage therapists and aromatherapists to doctors and nurses can benefit from incorporating this holistic perspective of the human 
energetic systems into their modalities.

Approved Provider for Massage Therapists & Body Workers.
      Continuing Education Hours Granted by the NCBTMB 
for Chinese Medicine Courses & Chiropractic CEU's 
       provided by the CT Chiropractic Association as well. 

Many classes, including the Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory Class, Qi Gong 
Workshops & Tai Chi Programs of Excercise will now be offered for CEU Hours. 
Other programs on Clinical Aromatherapy & External Applications of
